Minor Grant Aid Awards
Published: 26 April 2018
Four organisations will receive a grant from Whitehill Town Council as part of its Minor Grant Aid scheme to help with running costs.
A meeting of the Council’s Policy & Resources Committee on 23rd April agreed to award grants totalling £7,000 to support organisations which provide services and activities to the Whitehill & Bordon community. The following grants were awarded:
£3,000 to Homestart Weywater towards core costs to support the increase in housing.
£3,000 to Furniture Helpline towards core costs.
£500 to the Conde Link for supplies and a website. Members strongly encouraged the organisation to better publicise activities to engage with the community to encourage membership.
£500 to Challengers, a youth scheme providing leisure activities for disabled young people.
Martin Dennison, Furniture Helpline General Manager, said “We are delighted that Whitehill Town Council has awarded this grant to us. Everybody works hard at Furniture Helpline to make the charity viable from one year to the next and to deliver free or low cost furniture to families in need or on low incomes. This grant will really help us over the coming year.”
Homestart Weywater also thanked the Council for its continued support.
Whitehll Town Council also runs a Major Grant Aid scheme and has now awarded grants of £31,000 for this financial year, with a further £7,000 earmarked to two organisations.
