Twin Town Conde-Sur-Vire
Conde Link Twinning Association Whitehill & Bordon
Twinning
The Twinning started in 1971. At first it was an informal exchange between the primary schools of Bordon and Conde. These exchanges were so successful that in 1979 the Town Council decided that there should be a formal exchange between the two communities. In 1980 the Twinning Charter was officially signed.
Aims of the Association
The Association aims to promote and foster friendship and understanding between the people of the Parish of Whitehill and District and those of Conde sur Vire and District in France and those of other towns with which the Association may later form links.
We as a group encourage visits by individuals and groups to and from the linked towns. Young people, families, groups and invidivuals who wish to develope contacts. Those parties that do participate broaden their mutual understanding of the cultural, recreational, educational and commercial activities of the linked towns.
We as an Association also aim to promote and organise fund raising events and of course to foster the and encourage awareness in the Community of the Associations activities.
