From Noon there was a joint military/civilian ‘Farewell Festival’ on Budds Lane Sports Fields which included arena events, military displays, entertainment, activities, historical information, food & drink and a fun-fair. The event, which embraced community and civilian life in the town, was bought to a close with a fantastic Red Arrows flypast followed by the Beating Retreat performed by the band of the Royal Logistics Corps.
