Helen Drake (Citizens Advice East Hampshire, Chief Executive) said ” We thank Whitehill Town Council for their continued support to our service helping Whitehill and Bordon residents with the problems they face. This year has seen so many local residents facing unprecedented challenges managing the cost of living, with many struggling to crisis level with energy and food costs, debt and rent arrears. We have been here to help them through this crisis, providing support and advice in whatever way we can despite limited resources ourselves as a local charity. This grant will help us continue support to local residents as the cost of living crisis continues into 2023 and beyond. If you need help or support please contact us by calling our local telephone advice line on 080 8278 7901 or filling out our online form on our website”:

Sue Gillard (Home Start Hampshire) said “Local staff and volunteers much appreciate the support of Whitehill town Council. Your award ensures we can continue to provide dedicated support, information and guidance to local families. Your support is always appreciated but even more so in these times of financial hardship. Being a parent, can be very challenging, many parents feel exhausted and overwhelmed by the stresses of family life and current financial demands, providing a volunteer home-visitor is often the lifeline they need”.

I promise we will continue to deliver affordable, accessible arts for the community of Whitehill & Bordon and in doing so promote the town as a great place to live”.
Curtis Bone (Chairman of Whitehill & Bordon Community Association) said: “WBCA would like to thank Whitehill Town Council for their continued support and backing, the grant will allow us to continue to operate and improve the Community Centre for the benefit of our users and wider community”.

Round 1 – March 2023
On 13 April 2023 the Executive Committee awarded the round 1 minor grants to the following organisations:
- £750 to Bordon Amateur Boxing Club CIC
- £850 to Hollywater School
- £800 to I’m All Ears
- £800 to Weyford Association of Staff and Parents
- £800 to Whitehill & Bordon Community Association
BORDON AMATEUR BOXING CLUB:
“We would like to take this opportunity to thank Whitehill Town council for their continued support and this minor grant, it’s greatly appreciated by all of us here within the club, without it some of our goals would simply remain a dream!! This will help us with some equipment that is needed for the children in the club and we hope that you continue to support us as a new community interest sports club.”
HOLLYWATER SCHOOL:
“The provision of the Councillors grant to Hollywater School allows the students from our SEND Further Education department and previous SEND Alumni to have much needed access to their local community. This funding provides dedicated opportunities for students to self-advocate and participate in the organisation of social activities that build on their community cohesion and support their own and their family’s mental health and wellbeing. It reduces the social isolation that can be experienced by some of our young people and allows them to build and maintain friendships outside of school, and with peers that have moved on. Families are able to create support networks with each other and offer advice and a listening ear to the challenges of early adulthood for those with SEND. We are grateful to the Councillors for the award of this grant.”
WEYFORD ASSOCIATION OF STAFF AND PARENTS:
“We are delighted and extremely grateful to have been awarded a grant from Whitehill Town Council. This will go a long way in helping us provide the children of Weyford Nursery and Primary Academy with some much-needed outdoor resources; this enables us to continue our push to improve mental health by enjoying some of their education in an outside environment.”
WHITEHILL AND BORDON COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION:
“Thank you very much for all your support and we look forward to continuing to work with you.”
I’M ALL EARS:
“I’m All Ears CIC is very pleased to have gained funding, this will enable us to continue to provide community counselling in Bordon and Whitehill for more people in need, at the time that they need it without lengthy waiting lists. Thank you to Whitehill Town Council.”
Round 2 – September 2023
