REMEMBRANCE SERVICE & PARADE – SATURDAY 11 NOVEMBER 2023
This years Remembrance Service takes place on Saturday 11 November 2023 at the town’s War Memorial (located at the junction of Camp Road and Ennerdale Road).
This year we have the pleasure in confirming that approximately 150-200 soldiers from 4 Armoured Close Support Battalion of REME (Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers) will march past the War Memorial. Their family members will also be present, and after the service they will march back past the War Memorial to The Shed.
WHEN TO ARRIVE
We ask to arrive at 10:10am at the War Memorial. This is to allow the Remembrance Parade to march past the War Memorial before the service commences at 10:40am.
There is no parking near the War Memorial. This year WBRC (Whitehill & Bordon Regeneration Company) have kindly advised that the car parks located in the vicinity of The Shed will be free of charge for that day. (Saturday 11 November)
A service sheet will also be available on the day and this year you will also be able to download this from our website ahead of the service. (It is not yet ready, but we will let you know when it is!)
After the service light refreshments will be provided by St Matthews Church.
LAYING OF WREATHS
During the service there will be an opportunity to lay wreaths – community groups and members of the public will be called up to the War Memorial and will be able to lay their wreaths.
