Community Polytunnel

Main content

welcome to the polytunnel sign

The polytunnel was purchased by Whitehill Town Council using funding from East Hampshire District Council’s Healthy New Town grant. It is located at Building 94 on the Enterprise Park and will primarily be used by youth, community groups & schools in the Whitehill & Bordon area. It will be used as a horticulture project hub to grow floral displays, plants and food which could be re-used within the town. This will benefit children who require this type of outdoor learning and social environment facility to obtain new skills. We aim for this to grow into our first climate change awareness hub, introducing solar panels to produce lighting for the structure, reuse of waste materials and usage of natural substances whilst showing children these techniques when using the polytunnel.

This project has been funded by the Healthy New Towns programme and kindly supported by EHDC, Community First and Abri.

Contact the Whitehill & Bordon Community Trust if you would like to book the Polytunnel. Email them info@wb-ct.org or call 07762961849. https://www.wb-ct.org/

FOOD BANK DONATIONS

fresh produce from the Community Polytunnel is regularly taken to Bordon Food Bank. The Food Bank is in Unit 13 in the Forest Centre, next door to the (closed) Forest Cafe. Use the rear entrance, go out the side door between the cafe and the hairdresser, follow the path round to the right.

They are always grateful for donations.  For more information, visit https://www.wb-ct.org/bordon-food-bank
